The highest end frame Peugeot has ever built

The CF 708PC

The CF708 PC was created by Peugeot which was the sponsor and brand of the famous pro  "Team Z" in 1987 for the season 1988, but in the meanwhile Peugeot left the competition and were stuck with a serie of  frames stamped with the "Z"  , so in 1992 they decided to offer those frames to the public market and was introduced in their brochures only for one year.

This frame is made of very special internal fluted tubing ( just alike a gun barrel) to minimize the weight and to maximize the rigidity.

Few of those frame were actually bought by the public market because they were very expensive and also because peugeot sold very rarely naked frame, only complete industrial production   bikes.

The buyer had to order this frame and had to equipe it with whatever he desires, here, Campagnolo Athena first Generation.  This particular examplar was assembled at the Cycl'in" shop in Saint Etienne, France.

We present here one of these frame, only two of them are kown to us, cheers

Merckx Alu Sprint 1999

A Merckx Alu Sprint, not the highest end bike, but an interesting and beautiful one, it's a barn found, and was in a very poor condition, broken derailleur bracket, fit with mountain bike crankset and derailleurs. 7 speed on older wheels while having  10 speed campagnolo shifters from 2010, wrong period seatpost, break calipers, horrible stem and handlebar. The paint was surprisingly like new . Lets get to the shop...

 Before restoration... Avant restauration

 After....
Looks better now that we looked after her as she deserves... don't you agree ?

Après... bien meilleur look non ?

Campi Veloce crankset shining like the door of a whore house :)

8 speeds chromed casset and long cage campi veloce derailleur

Veloce break caliper

Merckx hand paint job stickers

Peinture faite à la main par masquage

Modolo "cockpit"

Looks like a real racer now

Un look de vrai coursier maintenant

Thanks for watching

Roland Liboton's Guerciotti / Alan cyclocross bike

Silver medal with cup.svg      Superprestige 1984-1985-1986

Here is a 1984 Alan-Guerciotti Super-Record professionnal cyclo-cross bike, that has belonged to Roland Liboton, the greatest cyclocross champion of all times. The roland's sponsor and team was Guerciotti for many years, this picture dates from 1983

The frame and original parts from Liboton found near Ghent- Belgium and bought to an old farmer who sold it for his son of guy who new Liboton, he told us that Liboton wanted to recover his bike but he refused for unknown reasons.

I then rebuilt the bike with parts I had on the shelves. Not all the part are exactly the same as the original, saddle, pedals, handle bar, break levers and wheels aren't conform. My be later on I will put the right parts. Liboton used very special pedals , the Lyotard 460 fitted with double layer of toe clips and riveted straps.

At first we conatct Liboton's wife to  sell his husband his bike frame back for the price we payed it, 200 euro, he was at first happy and agreed and then for unknown reasons all contact stopped... I wanted Liboton to get his own bike back, since Mathieu Van Der Poel has destroyed his old bike stupidly (video here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEOwE_zgY9Umay be they thought we wanted to crook them. Too bad for him. We also contact Alan frame company to have more info about this frame, he confirm that this frame with this serial number was sold to Guerciotti.

The bike equiped with road clinchers instead of cyclocross tubular tires

Typical Roland's trace of use due to the  unic way he carried his bike when on foot. (Only cosmetic wear)

Its size

Top range Alan frame, the " Super Record" and the date" November 1984"

The super record crankset 50 teeth chainring (not the usual 52 or 53

Mafac cantilevers breaks,

Campagnolo record seat post, rare 25 mm

Potence Cinelli 1R, longueur 12 cm centre à centre.

Cinelly 1-R stem, 12 cm long center to center. It has a holes drilled through, to be used as a cable stop
, better solution than the ugly  mafac cable stop bracket fitted on the headset.

The Guerciotti team, Brand and Sponsor. Guerciotti was and still is a famous bike and team builder Company.

The rear derailleur is Campagnolo super Record second generarion.

Suntour gear levers with unic inner click system, yes, not the campagnolo counterparts, Suntour was better

Campa hub and maillard free wheel with cyclo-cross tubular tire

This bike is from 1984, and therefore, it shows the last 1983 world champion cyclo-cross victory won on a Guerciotti, by Roland of course.
